The natural world and passion for environmental issues have always inspired my work; Honeycomb is no different. This piece is designed not only to showcase the astounding beauty of a honeycomb, but also to bring attention to one of our planet’s most magnificent and essential creatures and how it represents this community.

Bees are known for building and working together to achieve a common goal. My intentions with this piece are to highlight the co-operative values that Vancity is known for and to reflect Vancity’s belief that like any beehive, we only truly prosper when we are connected to a healthy community.

I am dedicated to the environment. That is why Honeycomb is made almost entirely using recycled materials, mainly hand-woven, repurposed gold-colour foil. It is part of my personal commitment to making the world a better place and raising awareness for our bees.
